My E.Q. (or lack of it)
My office mate and fellow bibliophile Lizette read the Twilight Saga before I did. I can remember how she looked for books 2 (New Moon) and 3 (Eclipse) everywhere after reading the first novel (Twilight) even after she VOWED a moratorium on buying books for the time being.
I was supposed to just borrow Lizzie’s books after my officemates Peachy, Anne and Jane are through with them. HOWEVER last Thursday, I saw the trade paperback copies of the Twilight series at Powerbooks and my lack of/low E.Q. (Emotional Quotient) to wait for my officemates to finish the books prompted me to buy not one but all three available books. You see, the 4th and final installment of the series (Breaking Dawn) is yet to come out (release date: August 2, 2008).
Note: The purchase was also after I VOWED to NOT buy any more BOOKS for the meantime. Touche.
As it was a long weekend, I started to read Saturday afternoon, and didn’t stop until I finished all THREE books around Sunday lunch time. (I was having tummy problems the whole Saturday night and was not able to sleep well so the books provided company. :-D)
My real intention is to make the books my bedtime reading before going to sleep. I thought since the 4th and final installment is coming out on August, I can just read slowly and finish the first 3 just in time for the 4th book to come out. Well, I was wrong. My E.Q. (or lack of it) drove me to finish the books and now, I can’t wait to know the ending. (Yep, I already pre-ordered Breaking Dawn from Powerbooks ;-D)
There goes my self-imposed moratorium on buying books! A (hopeless) Bibliophile through and through and through!
